How to Fix Your LinkedIn Feed: Simple Steps to See More of the Right Posts
If you’re wondering why your LinkedIn feed shows random or stale posts, here’s how to fix it.
Many people ask me why they don't see updates from the people and brands they actually care about. The good news is that you can retrain the LinkedIn algorithm with a few simple changes to show more of what you actually care about.
Why You’re Seeing the Wrong Posts on LinkedIn
LinkedIn decides what it thinks you want to see, but that often misses the mark. By default, it prioritises “Most Relevant,” which can bury updates from your key contacts and clients.
Step 1: Follow and Connect with the Right People
Start by following and connecting with the organisations and people you genuinely want to hear from.
Go to their profiles, follow their company page, and tap the notification bell → choose or change it to All Posts. This tells LinkedIn you want to see their content every time they share it.
Step 2: Switch Your Feed to “Most Recent”
Take back control of your feed:
-
Click your profile photo → Settings & Privacy → Account Preferences → Feed Preferences
-
Change from Most Relevant to Most Recent
This simple change shows posts in chronological order, not just teh ones LinkedIn selects for you.
Step 3: Train the LinkedIn Algorithm
Every time you see content that isn't helpful, click the three dots on the post and select Not Interested or I’ve seen this before.
Over time, this teaches LinkedIn what you do and don't want to see.
Why Cleaning Up Your Feed Matters
When you tidy up your feed, you start seeing new people, reconnecting with old contacts, and staying in touch with organisations that matter to you. Your LinkedIn feed becomes useful and inspiring rather than frustrating.
